How are distributions determined?
Member organizations receive distributions both directly and indirectly.
The primary source of distribution is directly from shopping efforts through the Toolbar. Once you have completed a purchase through one of our 500 online retailers, you simply report the shopping activity to us.
In addition, member organizations share in both ad revenue and paid search revenue.
Members choosing to receive referral fee payments to their personal PayPal or AlertPay accounts may do so. However, only shopping revenues may be designated in this manner. Ad and search revenue may not be paid to individuals. Additionally, an individual must generate a minimum of $10 in referral fees to have payments transferred into their personal accounts. HOW MUCH CAN I GET BY SHOPPING WITH THE TOOLBAR?
Members should always check their “Message Center” for important information and updates. Additionally, members may opt to activate their desktop notification, allowing us to occasionally send short messages directly through their desktop toolbar.
HOW MUCH CAN I GET BY SHOPPING WITH THE TOOLBAR?
It varies. Generally, consumer electronics will yield about 1%. Books and most other items return 2%. Specialty items, such as clothing and gifts usually result in a 5% referral fee. Some items, such as inkjet supplies, may be as high as 15% of the purchase cost.
Importantly, it is the online retailer that determines whether an individual purchase is eligible for a referral fee, the actual rate paid and the length of time until payment is made. Typically, payment is received in 4-6 weeks. Shipping, sales tax and other incidental costs, such as insurance are not included in the total price eligible for a referral fee.
